Oversize Manufactured Housing Blanket Authority: nondivisible manufactured housing over 14 through 16 feet wide, no more than 14 feet high and 120 feet overall, at legal weight. Blanket authority is free, but the permittee buys a 50-permit prenumbered book for $500, completes an original for each trip, places it in the vehicle, and returns completed books.

Continuous Movement/Self Issued Blanket Authorization (CMSI): compiled Rules 700-709 publish a $500 company-year agreement for approved sealed-container cargo or equipment, 24/7, no more than 95,000 pounds gross, and otherwise legal dimensions. Prenumbered forms must be completed before movement, faxed to the Permit Office, and copied to the driver; no fax or no display is treated as no permit. Confirm current enrollment/availability before relying on self-issue authority.

For section 63-5-33(3)'s listed operations and materials, tandem weight may be up to 40,000 pounds whether or not the vehicle has a Harvest Permit. Without a Harvest Permit, an eligible movement may receive up to 5 percent above authorized gross, tandem, or axle weight, but gross cannot exceed 81,600 pounds and no gross tolerance applies when the origin has scales. A Harvest-permitted vehicle may receive up to 10 percent above authorized gross, tandem, or axle weight, capped at 88,000 pounds gross. Eligibility is confined to the specified loading-to-processing movement and listed materials—sand, gravel, woodchips, wood shavings, sawdust, fill dirt, agricultural products, recycling products or materials, and highway construction or repair materials—generally within a 100-mile radius unless the products are transported for processing within Mississippi. No increased weight or tolerance applies on federal interstates or routes that prohibit tolerance. The county/municipal written-notice and route-designation process in subsection (5) stands repealed from and after July 1, 2028.

Special Interstate Agricultural Vehicle: annual $25-per-vehicle interstate authority for qualifying unprocessed food/feed/fiber crops and unfinished forestry products. A concurrent Harvest Permit is mandatory; maximum is 88,000 pounds or 10 percent above the vehicle's authorized gross limit, size must otherwise be legal, movement is daylight-only, and gravel, sand, fill dirt, asphalt, and similar materials are excluded.

57 Foot Box Van Trailer: $100 per carrier-year for an otherwise-legal 57-foot box van on approved routes, 24/7. Kingpin to rear-axle-group center may not exceed 41 feet; specified rear protection is required; the driver must produce the permit on request.

Tractor with Dirt Pan In-Tow: requires a 72-hour road-use permit plus oversize authority; daylight-only convoy of no more than three units, front and rear escorts, amber lights, radio contact, signs on units and escorts, four-lane routing where possible, and periodic pull-offs. Oversize is $10 per vehicle/load; overweight is weight-and-mileage based.

Over Length Truck and Trailer Blanket: $100 per permit-holder-year; maximum truck-trailer combination length 99 feet, legal width and height, and no additional overhang.

Forestry Equipment Blanket: $200 per pulling-unit-year for one piece of timber equipment; maximum 100,000 pounds gross, 14 feet wide, 14 feet high, 44,000 pounds tandem, and 50,000 pounds triaxle. Exceeding any envelope requires a Single Trip Oversize/Overweight Permit; electronic or paper display is accepted on request.

Pole Blanket: $200 per owned fleet for one month on predetermined state-maintained routes, generally not interstates. Maximum legal height, 120 feet overall, 40 feet overhang, 9 feet 6 inches load width, and 80,000 pounds gross or 88,000 with a Harvest Permit; requires a rear escort, rear 16-inch red flag, rear amber device, no low-weight route, no inclement-weather movement, and at least 20-foot pavement width.

Hay Blanket: $100 per vehicle-year on state-maintained and interstate highways, daylight-only; maximum 14 feet high, 53-foot trailer, and 10 feet 6 inches wide, with wide-load signs and federal securement.

Special Heavy Equipment Blanket: the nonrefundable $4,500 fee applies specifically to excess weight. A separate overwidth-only blanket through 14 feet is $100 annually. The vehicle-specific excess-weight envelope allows 24/7 movement up to 150,000 pounds, 12 feet wide, 13 feet 6 inches high, and 99 feet long; over 12 through 14 feet wide is daylight-only Monday-Saturday. A secondary routing permit must be obtained before every move and carried with the blanket.

Oversize/Overweight Write Your Own Blanket: compiled Rules 1400-1402 publish $200 prenumbered permit books; each form is completed and faxed before movement, lasts three consecutive work days, and permits daylight travel Monday-Saturday with no Sunday movement. Motor cranes and off-road self-powered equipment require a certified scale receipt with each axle spacing, each axle weight, and date. Confirm current issuance/availability before relying on self-issue authority.

Timber Industry 12 Foot Rear Overhang: permits eligible timber rear overhang up to 12 feet from rear trailer lights from two hours before sunrise through two hours after sunset. The vehicle carries current registration, a Harvest Permit, and an Oversize Permit; blanket vehicles pass the pre-issuance inspection. Both rear sides require amber lights and one 2-inch by 24-inch red-and-white retroreflective sheet outside the lowest timber. If the applicant uses the certificate-of-insurance alternative, the certificate/copy and every replacement or modification stay in the cab; failure to produce acceptable current proof voids all permits. Fee is $100/year or $10/trip; the trip option does not require the pre-issuance inspection.

A United States military unit may apply for a fee-exempt Military and Emergency Response permit with a predetermined route. Other extraordinary size or weight movement requires discretionary MDOT special-permit approval on application and good cause; do not infer emergency authority from the shipment description alone.
